Laurel Fall in Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Yesterday we were mainly just hiking the Laurel Falls Trail. It was beautiful there, but the area was really slippery. You can easily fall there. Kinda scary, because the edge was this really steep wall. You’ll be in deep trouble if you fell there. However, it’s really beautiful there. This whole area was established as US national park at 1934 by President Roosevelt, if I’m not mistaken. We just visited Laurel fall trails, but there are actually many more trails and natural attractions in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that we haven’t been able to visit.

Let the Winter 2009 Vacation Begin

Finally, it’s Winter time here in US. Everybody is ready for Christmas season. And the thing that I like the most is VACATION. Apart from the most imporatant fact that Jesus Christ was born 2000 years ago to redeem us from Hell and bring us to Heaven, vacation is probably the most fun thing during Christmas for me.

This year, I’m going to Atlanta, Tennessee, and Virginia. Quite a long trip, ha? I know. We are going to cover a lot of area this this year. Currently, we are in Gatlinburg, TN. This are is awesome. I have never been to an area where it is partly covered by snow like here. The fact that I can see both the ground and the snow at the same time makes it even more beautiful.

I was little bit disappointed due to the fact that the road was blocked, 30 miles from our hotel. We ended up had to re-route about 200 miles around the area to get to the hotel. This was due to the snow storm and land slide in Tennessee. It was ok though. We now had the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery here.

Beautiful, isn’t it? Sometimes God has different plan for us. If the road wasn’t blocked, I might not be able to enjoy this beautiful scenery. Continue reading “Let the Winter 2009 Vacation Begin” »

PCC Indonesian Fellowship Kebaktian Padang Spring 2009

This past weekend we went to the beach to have our “PCC Indonesian Fellowship Kebaktian Padang Spring 2009.” It was really fun. Unfortunately, it was little bit raining and windy for a while when we went there. The weather was clearing up later in the afternoon though.

Since we didn’t have enough car, I ended up doing three round trips to pick up my friends and dropped them back. It’s ok though. I did use more gas, but they compensated me by allowing me not to pay for the food and everything else, so I was saving around $8.

I also enjoyed the moment where I and the other two guys playing guitar for Praise and Worship. It was also the same day when I began to like Digital SLR. There were three people in our group who brought their DSLR. I tried two of the cameras, and I liked it. The quality is so much different then when you took pictures with digital camera. The problem is that DSLR is so expensive, around $400-500. Plus, you need to buy carrying case, tripod, and more lens for future use. These expenses could cost me another $500. So in total, I need to save up $1000 to get DSLR. Wow….it’s a lot of money for me. I guess we have to look and see if God provides me with the money or not in the future. When the time is right, I am planning to get a DSLR.

Here are couple pictures that I selected to best represent what happenned when we were in Pensacola beach.
