I have heard about twitter for quite a while now, but I have never really tried it. So, I decided to give it a try 2 days ago. It’s pretty interesting actually. The concept is like Facebook status update. Twitter allows you to post a short 140 characters describing what are you doing now.

With twitter, you can tell the world every little thing that you are doing now. You are not going to send email to everyone that cares about you that you are drinking coffee at Starbucks and you are enjoying your time there. It will be too time consuming. But with twitter, you can just update your status there, and let people that cares about you “follow” you using twitter. You can also follow other people’s twitter to know what are they doing currently.

Twitter will be especially handy when you are using iPhone, blackberry or other mobile phones that allow you to access twitter anytime. That way, you can update your twitter and follow other’s twitter anywhere you are.

Several examples of twitter usage that is useful are

• Letting your families know where you are while you are travelling, so they don’t worry so much about you.
• Telling your loved ones that you are missing them.
• Being more involved in someone’s life by following what he’s doing, and “@reply ” his status.
• and many more.
