I have been playing Ingress for about 3 years on my Android. There is something about this game that got me hooked to it! (Good job, Mr. Google)
I got my Lvl. 8 access on July 2014 after 3 months of intense playing. I know that some people did it in lesser period, but I think 3 months is not too shabby, isn’t it?
Well…I have been playing Ingress since 2013, but I have never been really serious playing it, not until April 2014, when my portal submissions got approved for the 1st time. It just so happened that those approved portals were near my old workplace, so those new approved portals are like my “baby” at that time… LOL… I’m sure many Ingress players have experienced this syndrome once or twice.
Reaching Level 8 in Ingress is a MAJOR achievement in my Ingress Career (Hahahaa who knows that maybe few years from now, you can make Ingress as your career path). You might be wondering why, if you haven’t played this game. It’s so important for a new Ingress player to reach Lvl. 8 because that’s when you are able to use all items in your inventory. Items in your inventory are ranged between Lvl. 1 to 8. Each of them requires specific “clearance” level to use. When you reached Lvl. 8, it means that you can use all items in your inventory. Obviously the higher the item level, the more powerful it is. I was super happy when I reached Lvl. 8. It’s as if you can hear this marching band in the background, along with some new year’s fireworks.
Now, 7 months after it, I finally reached Lvl. 9 Woohooo….!! There are no Lvl. 9 items, but at least, my XM Reserves is much bigger than previously.
….and 5 minutes prior to this, I just got this new medal badge from Ingress, Illuminator. Pretty awesome.
I hope my Ingress stories will keep going 🙂
How about you? Are you also playing Ingress? What’s your story?
Note: Ingress is an augmented reality game that was made by Niantic Labs, a startup within Google, in 2012. You can now play it in both Android and iOS.
