If you are living in Jakarta, you will know for sure and experience how bad the traffic is in Jakarta. This traffic problem has been there for years and years. To be honest, I, as a citizen of Jakarta, started to get complacent with it. It feels like it’s just part of living in Jakarta and started to lose hope that it will get better.
Years have passed with nothing changed. No one has stepped up to solve the problem and deal with the root cause of the problem. It’s truly a complex situation involving corruption, mafia, conspiracy, and lack of law enforcement.
I gave up. I’m now trying to accept the condition and decided to bear with it. But this all changed after I watched this video!
Despite of this complex & years of unresolved traffic problem in Jakarta, one person stood up to break the hell-loose and fix the problem. KUDOS to our governor Basuki Purnama (Ahok). His speech on this video changed my paradigm and started to give me hope.
For all of you Jakarta’s citizen, don’t give up. There’s still hope. As long as we have good and trusted people in the government, Jakarta and Indonesia will be better! I believe more people like Ahok will rise up, and it’s only a matter of time when Jakarta (and Indonesia) will be a great place to live and we can be proud of it.
