Ambiance
I would say that it’s got a pretty nice environment there. The dining area is not too big, but not to small either, so you will feel cozy there. However, its open space made it sound pretty loud there, especially when the room is packed. Maybe it’s just me, but I like a rather quiet dining area when I’m enjoying my food.
Also, one of the air conditioners was broken, so it was little bit warm there, which slightly bothered me.
If you were a smoker, you will find this place really accommodating. It has a big smoking area at the back. I was actually surprised how big the smoking area is, compared to the non-smoking dining area. You’ll find some pictures of it if you read though my post.
Service
One thing that I notice from this place is its friendly waiter. It seems all of them have been briefed pretty well on how to deal with the customers. They answered my question pretty well when I asked them about the menu.
They also are quite informative. For example, when I ordered grilled flying fish, they were informing that it will take longer to serve as it needs to be grilled first, so the waiter suggested me to order something else too so I don’t wait too long for just one food. It’s a pretty simple thing, I know; but he has a genuine concern for his customer.
The food are served pretty quick too. Granted that the place is not decorated beautifully, so the food presentation is mediocre. At least, I don’t have to wait long for my food, especially when you were so hungry like I was at that time.
Taste
I ordered:
– Sashimi Combo
– Miso Soup
– Salmon Tataki
– Seasoned Baby Octopus
– Grilled Flying Fish
– Salmon Belly
– Hot Ocha
– Shrimp Tempura
Here’s the full menu for the buffet
From all the menu that I ordered, they tasted so-so…nothing special. The only one that picked my interest was the Joobu’s Special Roll (not sure what’s in it though. I just know it’s pretty good…LOL) The salmon sashimi, which is my favorite, is not too bad, but I tried a better one, so this one is taste just OK for me. But honestly, for a “buffet” restaurant, the salmon sashimi is pretty good.
If you live around Puri Indah area, you can call them for delivery also. Here’s the delivery menu:
Price
Sushi Joobu offers 2 different prices for its buffet menu. One is Rp. 109,999 and the other one is Rp. 149,999 I believe. The only difference between the two is that the cheaper one doesn’t have unagi (eel) and scallop in its menu. The more expensive one has ones.
I thing that I need to highlight here is that the Rp. 109,999 is not the net price. After tax and everything, the net Price would be Rp. 145,000 for the Rp. 109,999 buffet menu.
