I got this video from a RT by @JayGilmore. It really opens my eyes on how limitless we can use Twitter. We can use Twitter for everything from education, group meeting and discussion, status update, sport match commentary, even package tracking (just some random ideas I come up with). Plus, with Twitter API, you can develop Twitter apps for various needs.
In this video the surgeon used Twitter to broadcast the operation to the whole world as he uses Twitter as one of his teaching method. It’s a brilliant idea, isn’t?
Do you have any ideas on what you want to use your Twitter for? It doesn’t have to be something that you have already done, it could be something random that you think would be cool and useful for others. If you have one, please share it here.
I’ll go first. I think it would be really neat if we can track our packages using Twitter. Usually you track your packages by going to the vendor’s website or you can also send the notifications to your email.
If the vendors (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) support Twitter and send all the tracking updates through Twitter, we can get the updates quicker and more recent (almost in real-time maybe). So we don’t have to check to their website over and over again. Every updates (city by city updates would be good enough) will come to our twitter, and we can check it from the comfort of our Twitter applications (TweetDeck, iPhone, etc.) Wouldn’t it be neat?
As its originally intention as a “What are you doing?” social networking, then I can’t think of any other purpose than for a Status Update.
Your idea is great though…:)

hey,, sorry Steven, I forgot to change the user name on your blog, seems like my Bart sent you a comment previously. But it’s me now!!!! sorry!!!!Just delete one. Thanks!
Even though that’s the original idea, twitter is capable to be used more than just “What are you doing?” social media, I think. My idea of using Twitter for package tracking will be little bit complicated to make, because it requires some knowledge of Twitter API. May be someday I will find some other use of Twitter that won’t require knowledge of Twitter API, so everyone can do it. We’ll see 🙂
@Gaby I see. No wonder why I got two comments with the same content. That’s funny. Btw, I have already deleted one of your comment.

Interesting story. Thanks, Gaby! Who would ever thought that Twitter can be used to find missing people? The next thing you know, you can use Twitter to brew coffee. 🙂
